Penny Black & Sketch Saturday #60

Hi everyone...Saturday again already! :) What a miserable start to the summer holidays...I do hope the weather is better in your part of the world. I blame the weather for my lack of mojo this week as I really have not felt like making cards at all....I need some sunshine to give me a boost! :)

Two great challenges to keep you busy over the weekend...and two totally contrasting cards from me....you'll see what I mean! LOL

Penny Black Saturday Challenge ~ Soft & Sweet

This first card is quite easy on the eye :) and is for the 'Soft & Sweet' challenge at PBSC this week

This week's prize is a fabulous 'Thinking of You' stamp set donated by Simply Friends Stamp Club

To fit in with the challenge I have tried to stick to using soft colours....something I always struggle with as you know I prefer bright, bold colours. I have used one of my favourite Penny Black stamps for this card 'Sweet Slumber' .

The image has been coloured with Copics and I added some glossy accents to the choccies and the bow to add a bit of interest. The papers are a mix so I have listed the below in the recipe.

Recipe
Stamp: 'Sweet Slumber' (1916J) by Penny Black.
Colouring Medium: Memento Ink & Copic Sketch Markers.
Papers:The striped paper is by Rusty Pickle and I don't know who the dotty paper is made by....I must have had it in my stash for nearly a decade! lol
Tools: 'Lace Doily' border punch and 'Frond' punch both by Martha Stewart. Quickutz photo corner.
Ribbon: Ribbon Oasis.
Flowers: Prima & the roses are from Hobbycrafts.
Misc: Stick on pearls are from my stash.

Sketch Saturday #60

A fabulous Sketch as always from Jo this week at Sketch Saturday. I must admit to struggling a bit with this one though....the curved shape had me stumped for a while...but when I was looking through my papers I found this 'Wave' paper that I thought would fit the bill.

This weeks Sponsor is Emma Lockley, Emma is an independent Stampin Up demonstrator. I buy all my SU goodies from Emma and can highly recommend her friendly, speedy service...great for people like me who want everything yesterday!

Jo's Sketch (rotated)

I did warn you earlier...you are definitely going to need your sun glasses for this one! LOL

I have used one of my new stamps from the Magnolia Stamp Club Summer collection and for fun I have perched Tilda on top of a wave.

As always the image has been coloured with Copics and the fab papers are all by Bo Bunny. I have computer generated the sentiment using 'Melissa BT' font.

Recipe
Stamp: From the 'Lazy Summer Days' collection by Magnolia.
Colouring Medium: Memento Ink & Copic Sketch Markers.
Papers: All by Bo Bunny 'A Gift Love' collection.
Tools: Woodware corner rounder punch. Xcut flower punch (for the tiny blossoms next to the sentiment)
Flowers: Prima
Misc: Buttons are from my stash.

Well it's not really outdoor weather today, so I am going to have a baking session this morning and maybe take Jack out for a late lunch later.....he loves going to our local pub as it has an enormous indoor play area...although Jack is well over the age limit now!...but the staff know Jack and turn a blind eye! :)

Thanks for stopping by....Have a great weekend!

Good morning Debbie - both are beautiful cars. Love that Penny Black image and I love the bright fun Bo Bunny paper you used to create your Tilda card. She looks adorable sitting on that wave! So fun! The weather here is NW Ontario is well below seasonal by at least 10 degrees c most days, so it is feeling like the summer that hasn't happened! Oh well, I guess if the weather is all I have to complain about, it's a good day!

Cheers,
Shanna
